I haven't heard any of Micheal Mayers own stuff before the 'Touch' album that this is taken from. It begins with a distant guitar pattern, which seems slightly off key. Then the whispered 'Give me love. Give me love food' comes in. A beat starts to build (with filtered handclaps - no song is complete without handclaps, if you put handclaps into a song you don't need to do anything else). Finally the bass is introduced and finally left on its own with the now complete beat. <br />It fizzles minimalistically like this for a while before bringing the guitar and vocal back. 'Give me love so i can kill. She's unreal'. <br />'Lovefood' is romantic and sexy, while at the same time being creepy and haunting. There's a fine line i suppose.
